The Whale Interpretive Centre is a land-based education centre run by the registered charitable society, the Johnstone Strait Killer Whale Interpretive Centre Society (est. 1993). The WIC’s mission is to promote public awareness and understanding of the marine mammals of coastal British Columbia. To fulfil this mission, the WIC collects and displays marine mammal skeletons and specimens, offers educational and interpretive tours of its facility, and hosts presentations from local and visiting scientists throughout the summer.
