Responsible Tourism
Responsible tourism means being part of the solution. Minimizing impact while actively supporting the protection of marine life and ecosystems.
Unforgettable Experiences, Delivered Responsibly
Our members are dedicated to delivering meaningful marine experiences while operating with care and respect on the water.
Responsible experiences are shaped by informed decision-making, shared best practices, and an understanding of how human activity affects marine life and coastal ecosystems.
We invite you to explore the region in a way that honours Indigenous Knowledge, respects marine mammals and supports ethical, stewardship-minded tourism.

Respecting the Territories
NIMMSA operates within the traditional territories of many First Nations along the North Island coast. These waters are not only ecologically rich, they are deeply connected to culture, history, and ongoing stewardship.
We encourage all members and visitors to take a moment to learn about respectful travel within these territories.
This short video, Maya’xala by Nanwakolas Council, shares guidance rooted in Indigenous knowledge and values, offering an important perspective on how we show up with care and respect.
