Monitoring Orcas at the Strider Rubbing Beach

Fund support enabled the installation of a high-capacity solar power system at the Strider rubbing beach in the Robson Bight (Michael Bigg) Ecological Reserve. This infrastructure allows for the future deployment of remote camera and hydrophone systems to monitor increased Orca use of the Strider site while minimizing the need for maintenance visits into this sensitive protected area.
